God Is My InspirationNo one could paint a never ending sky of blue
With deep colours that soothes your soul for just you
No one could create the cotton candy clouds of art
As soft and delicate to melt the heart
No one could project a rainbow across his sky
No one could structure a tree to stand firm and high

No one could send the cool winds to chill your spine
Or sweep you off your feet with a second in time
No one could shower rain that falls from above
No one could create aurora borealis or a dove
No one could make the golden sun set or rise
No one could hide from his eyes nor take him by surprise

No one but God could master the art of creation
No
We Fail To TryLife is not the monster that we make it to be
We are the ones who paint it ugly
We load our mouths with ammunition
And strike almost everything that doesn’t bend to our perfection

We create the dark heavy cloud that hovers ahead
And also the thin line that we religiously thread  
We cower in the darkness of the vast
Encaging ourselves as if it’s a prerequisite fast

We dig deep holes and bury ourselves with ashes
Blaming the people of the world because they lit the matches
We torment ourselves because we fail to try
And deprive ourselves the fragrance of life, I wonder why

Life radiates laughter that even the deaf hears
OverI’m over you
the moon no longer holds tender -
the broken shards of my dreams,
the sun no longer burns dark -
smoky clouds that smother my purpose.

I’m over you
rain has washed me clean and new
I’m growing free; my feet above the soil,
up, I rise – the sky is mine and so is tomorrow
I’ve buried yesterday and all of what was then.

I’m over you
the hurt has healed and I can smile, serene –
a song breaks from my heart and flies
she carries with her gentle words and
soft goodbyes, a sail on wind, the future mine.
Hate TakesI feel all the love, the hope, and my joy
Be ripped from my heart and veins
Now I can't think or focus
And nothing feels good again.

I hate this wall I run into
And all of the weights smashing me
I bawl...
As my childlike feelings,
Are slashed out of I.

My belief that I could get things done
Is fading, and hate is killing the moon's light.
I thought I could finally stand up
But my mind was deadly wrong.

Oh, God! Please.
Take all thoughts from my conscience.
And the hate I hold this day.
There is one I love,
That I never want to speak with.

And I feel so distraught.
I have no more caring
For a single thing of this life
Shut Me DownCover my eyes, black – with tar painted lashes
turn me out, cold – a shadow across the moon
put me away; I can't breathe outside my fears
wrap me in cancer; let it devour this facade

make me stop, tear my words from my tongue
bleach them clean so that they fade and become brittle
put me in that box and seal it tight
tether it to the earth; bury me deep under clay

Shut me down so light cannot find me
Throw me out where I belong – into the potter's field

Kneading the Needy ~
Those who would sign over deeds

into processions not their own

There is a tomb in your eye and I'll
crawl in and live for the first time.

Dust is the disaster dancing us into being.

Death ticks in through the body
so we'll look past our bodies to our body;

I mean symbiosis as a symbol of becoming:
Not birth but entering into a broader being.

Being to being, dust to dust.
Dust to a higher actuation of actuality.

There is a plunge and my hungers
splash down in your lungs.

I bow to the trees in your body;
I trace their branches and know myself.

There is a lunge of laughter from my look
and your heart beats.

Equal PartsEqual Parts

Equality seems the central theme
of this in-debt country
we the people controlled by
the very people they claim to be

But we all have secrets
and we all have a past
some times it tramples us underfoot
Justice, rights, and any good
have fled while there was still time

Some of us born into a world
where golden things are our own
hand-fed and platinum
this isn't real
Trapped in a self-enamored world

And others suffer
trapped in a class
of underprivileged and under-fed
shrinking into the cavity in their chest
Poor and hungry at best

Hope lies in help
but help never comes
Iron gates cloud the view of those who can
Basement Monsters
There were signs of struggle everywhere.  Thomas Essex's wife would return the next day from visiting her parents to find the interior of her large home completely ravaged. I could have left the place spotless.  I could have knocked Thomas out cold with a quick strike to the temple. I could have tied him up, carried him into the garage, and threw him into the trunk of his Escalade.  At three o'clock in the morning, in this safe, ritzy suburb, our little drive would have gone unnoticed. Remembrance"Remembrance"
I saw her standing, sombre and tall,
In front of a grave, in the October rainfall;
As the raindrops hit her pale face, so bleak,
I discerned the solitary tear roll down her cheek.

The only thing to match her beauty iridescent,
Her half closed eyes, each shaped crescent,
Her proud nose and trembling lips tender,
Was the lone red rose in her fingers so slender.

She had her swan neck hung low,
Lost deep in thought;
Of days gone by, so long ago,
And the changes time had brought.

She thought of love lost,
Her lover's life, the ultimate cost;
The flames of passion once burnt in her soul,
No more! Since the dogs of war
